Royal Bahrain Hospital hosts kidney health awareness session

An informative question-and-answer session on kidney health was recently held at Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH).

The event was led by RBH nephrology consultant Dr Issa Kawalit to help raise awareness of kidney disease as part of a wider initiative marking World Kidney Day.

Kidney disease is a serious but often manageable condition. Early detection and treatment can significantly improve outcomes for patients by slowing or halting the progression of kidney disease and preventing further damage to the kidneys.

Timely treatment can help prevent kidney failure, which may require dialysis or kidney transplantation for survival.

Dr Kawalit treats dialysis patients at the KIMSHEALTH Dialysis Centre located in Umm Al Hassam which is a fully equipped state-of-the-art facility delivering exceptional renal care for patients on dialysis, supervised by American Board-Certified nephrologists, working together under the umbrella of Arab Renal Care Group (ARCG).

The Kidney Health Day session, led by Dr Kawalit, offered a thorough overview of kidney health issues and treatment options.

At the end of the session Dr Kawalt answered valuable questions from doctors and members of the public allowing an interactive approach for the participants.

Overall, treating kidney disease is essential for preserving kidney function, reducing complications, and improving the quality of life for affected individuals. Early detection, proper management, and lifestyle modifications are key components of effective treatment strategies.
