“We were thrilled at the response of submissions to the competition.
Our beautiful island Kingdom of Bahrain has a wealth of talent, and we were delighted
to support these artists in creating something magnificent to be showcased at our
resort, said General Manager, Mr. Bernard de Villèle. “We also owe
sincerity and patronage to our owning
company, International Hotels Establishment, who supported this first
competition, which is planned to be an annual event again in next year’s social
calendar. Over the last two decades, our resort has become the epicenter for life,
luxury and good taste in the Kingdom and this amazing event celebrating arts is
just one of many that are we are extremely proud of.”
An Eye for Art at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain
A long legacy of artistry surrounds the small islands of Bahrain, from the
artistic impressions of historic Dilmun figures illustrated on early currency,
to traditional works displayed in The Bahrain Museum and National Heritage
Center, to the increasing number of modern art galleries emerging in the center
of forward-thinking Manama.
A walk through The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain
complements a journey through the city’s art scene. Artistic details are
integral to the intricate décor, and the hotel boasts a diverse art collection
of its own, from the striking pastel canvases in La Med, to the soft pallet of
elaborate books, paintings and vases elegantly displayed in the Club Lounge.
Artistic works are displayed around every corner, straddling genres from
paintings by Picasso to sculptures from some of Bahrain’s most promising young
talent.
