Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the Bahrain-based international aluminium smelter, recently held a one-day workshop on the famous book ‘Every Leader is an Artist’ for its executives, directors and managers at the Alba Club.
The workshop was conducted by the author of the book, Dr Michael O’ Malley, who highlighted the similarities between art and leadership, said a statement.
Dr O’Malley is a well-regarded expert in the field of Human Resources with over 25 years of experience including leadership roles in Hay Group and Mercer Consulting, it said.
He has also taught at the University of Colorado and Columbia Business School and holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University (US).
Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray said: “Once Line 6 is on-stream, we will become the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter.”
“Leading an organisation with such a large workforce requires the art of inspirational and influential leadership. I believe that this workshop will help potential and senior leaders not only to innovate and lead, but also show the way for success,” he added.
The ‘Every Leader is an Artist’ workshop will also be held by the author for Alba’s management staff during the week to disseminate valuable leadership skills covered in the book, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
