Zain Bahrain, a leading telecom operator in the kingdom, will be introducing “Smart Branch” self-service machines, it announced.

Zain Bahrain will be the first telecom company in the kingdom to launch the “Smart Branch”, a self-service machine that allows customers to purchase new lines such as pre-paid, post-paid and home broadband plans direct without the need to talk to a Zain Bahrain representative.

The new Smart Branch service will be available at all Zain Bahrain branches soon.

In addition, the Smart Branch will allow Zain customers to replace their SIM cards, generate eSIM (QR) codes, pay their phone bills and view Zain Bahrain's latest available devices, all through the interactive screen which supports reading Bahrain Smart ID cards with validating fingerprint feature.

The new Smart Branch will accept Bahraini and Saudi cash, and debit and credit cards as payment options. All transactions will be completed automatically and aligned with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and Zain’s Bahrain policies.

Zain Bahrain has collaborated with Payment International Enterprise (PIE) and CrediMax to launch the new one stop “Smart Branch” self-service machine. PIE is a leading FinTech company in the kingdom, specialised in payment solutions and payment innovation. PIE is licenced by Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and offers the full value chain of cashless payment including various types of prepaid products for the banking and telecom sectors.

“Zain Bahrain is proud to collaborate with PIE to launch Smart Branch. The initiative comes in line with Zain Bahrain overall digital strategy to provide customers with end-to-end innovation services at a one-stop-shop to make the experience quicker and more interactive without the need to wait,” said Ammar Al Ketbi, acting director, Consumer Marketing and Sales.

“We are pleased to support Zain in their Smart Branch initiative, which comes in line with CrediMax’s strategy and primary focus in providing excellent products and services that address current and future demands and support initiatives that enable digitalisation across the kingdom,” said Yousif Ali Mirza, chief executive of CrediMax. - TradeArabia News Service
