Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the Bahrain-based aluminium smelter, recently held the first workshop ‘One Team, One Goal’ in the Executive Education Series for 2020 for its executives, directors and managers at the Alba Club.

Held in cooperation with Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), the one-day team building workshop on (January 30) comprised a series of group interactive activities, focusing on four key areas - enhancing team spirit, creative problem solving, negotiation and time management - all of which will help transform leadership skills and find new pathways to meet the company’s goals, said a statement from the company.

Alba’s acting chief executive officer Ali Al Baqali said: “Team alignment and synchronisation is a must to steer the organisation to meet its objectives especially with the headwinds we face in todays’ world.”

“Through the workshop, we aim to further align our teams and adopt different tools to achieve higher performance and efficiency,” he added.

Dr Ahmed Al Shaikh, director, BIBF, said: “As part of our core beliefs, we consider organisational functions more efficient when we employ team dynamics, and we are glad to collaborate with Alba to achieve this goal through this team-building initiative.”

“This exercise provides realistic experiences that empower individuals to contribute towards common goals where boundaries will be broken in order to collaborate towards achieving their objective and work together more effectively as team members,” he added.

Being a responsible corporate citizen, the major highlight of this workshop was combining the learning experience with our contribution to society. One of the team’s activities was to assemble bicycles by using the techniques learned in the workshop which were then donated to orphans in our community.

The ‘One Team, One Goal’ Workshop will also be held for Alba employees, both management and non-management within the first quarter of 2020, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
