In response to the sheer numbers that poured following the announcement that had been made in April, Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) recently announced that the total donated sum of the financial rewards which were allocated to a total of 570 of the bank’s customers who are members of the medical teams working on the front-lines to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Bahrain, had been increased from BD30,000 ($78,961.6) to BD57,000 ($150,027).

On this occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Islamic Bank, Hassan Jarrar, said: “On behalf of all BisB affiliates, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to these heroes who risk their lives daily in order to keep us safe. For their selflessness and endless contributions, we have decided to increase the amount of the financial reward by BD27,000 ($71,065.4), to ensure that as many medical personnel as possible who are working on the frontlines are able to benefit. We remain committed to supporting the initiatives of the wise leadership and the esteemed government to curb the spread of the virus, and we will do our best to support the national efforts until we overcome this difficult period.”

Launching this initiative comes as a gesture of gratitude for the distinguished efforts put forward by the bank’s customers who are members of the medical teams working on the front-lines for helping contain the spread of the coronavirus and for continuing to provide health care for the infected patients and society altogether. This initiative aims to reward customers who are also members of the medical teams working on the front-lines in governmental hospitals and health centres.

The customers who were members of the medical teams working in governmental hospitals and health centres who contributed to combatting the coronavirus outbreak and met the criteria outlined by Bahrain Islamic Bank were requested to send the required data digitally through the Bank’s website www.bisb.com . The rewards offered by the bank were then deposited in their accounts. - TradeArabia News Service
