Bahrain's Bridge 17 project work in full swing

CONSTRUCTION NEWS

Bahraini authorities have announced that steady progress is being made on the project related to the Bridge 17 at Um Al Saad Avenue near Bandar Al Dar in Sitra area of the kingdom.

The current bridge suffers from cracks linked to the high number of heavy vehicles passing on Um Al Saad Avenue, reported BNA.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf toured the project site along with other ministry officials.

The project, designed as two bridges to accommodate traffic on the avenue and the housing and industrial expansion in the area, will see the replacement of the current bridge with another one with two lanes in either direction, stated the report.

It will also have an emergency lane to enhance traffic movement and boost safety levels, it added.
