BAB and AMA University discuss developing curricula for financial sector

The Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) held a remote meeting with the International University AMA during which they discussed joint cooperation for promoting academic curricula and practical training for university students and graduates. This is in line with the constantly evolving needs of the financial and banking institutions, and in a way that contributes to boosting the presence of the Bahraini qualified cadres in the Bahraini banking sector.
 
The meeting discussed implementing the Intercommunication with Banking Leaders programme, which aims at introducing students of Bahraini universities to the successful achievements of several banks and major financial institutions’ leaders in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to motivate and encourage them to perform more efforts to achieve scientific and practical excellence and success.
 
The meeting also discussed aspects of collaboration in the field of developing financial and banking research and studies, with the participation of the Association’s experts and the professors and students of AMA University, in a way that contributes to providing financial and banking decision-makers with correct and necessary data about this industry and its updates.
 
Dr Waheed Al Qassim, CEO of the Bahrain Association of Banks, stated that (BAB) is working as an effective channel for communication between financial and banking institutions and universities that teach financial and banking science, to contribute to the integration of more Bahraini cadres in the financial and banking sector.
 
“BAB aims to showcase the working environment in the banking sector and the required new careers. Moreover, we are aware that sustaining the momentum of the development of the financial and banking sector in Bahrain will be accomplished through cooperation with other sectors such as education and the judiciary among others,” Dr Al Qassim added.
 
For his part, Dr Hasan Al Mulla, President of AMA International University, affirmed the university’s new administration’s keenness to achieve a qualitative leap in its educational process based on many advanced fundamentals, including increasing the practical aspect of the curriculum and focusing on building partnerships with various institutions and companies in Bahrain to provide proper training opportunities for students and graduates.
 
“The Bahraini financial and banking sector will sustain its leadership and superiority through the promising Bahraini national cadres who are capable of leading new areas in financial services. AMA is ready to cooperate with BAB in a framework that guarantees the sustainability of its activities and outputs, and measures performance and corrects it permanently to achieve the
