Marson Group, a Bahraini business and project development company, has announced plans to launch Bahrain's first electric car factory.
 
A partnership has been formed between the group and a major American manufacturing corporation, 'Gauss Auto', to implement this project. 
 
A special ceremony was held in Bahrain on Tuesday to sign the agreement in the presence of representatives from both parties.
 
With a timeline of 10 months for construction and operation, the new plant will be located in Salman Industrial City in the American Trade Zone, under the name “Gauss Auto Bahrain”.
 
The factory will produce a range of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheel electric tricycles, and passenger vehicles. The producst will be marketed primarily in Bahrain, the US and other countries.
 
Construction and management will be handled by Marson Group, and Gauss Auto will provide technical know-how and practical knowledge based on its extensive experience in the worldwide electric vehicle sector.
 
"We are delighted to share this joyful news with our dear Kingdom, as well as our numerous partners and customers, and to open this high-quality and ambitious plant in Bahrain. Through this project, we strive to fulfil the directives of our wise leadership and esteemed government in strengthening the national economy, diversifying its sources of income, and providing more job opportunities for our national cadres,” said Ali Al Mattar, a member of the Board of Directors of Marson Group. 
 
Al Mattar, on the sidelines of the signing, stated that Marson Group, through its Gauss Auto Bahrain factory, is looking forward to establishing Bahrain as one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of electric vehicles and localising this advanced industry. 
 
“This project emphasises our leadership role and primacy in innovative project implementation. It will also be a conducive environment for building national expertise and will support Bahrain in achieving its ambitious goals outlined in its Industrial Strategy for the years 2022 to 2026 as well as the Kingdom's objective to having zero carbon emissions by the year 2060,” he said. 
 
Al Mattar extended his thanks and gratitude to all government and private entities that provided facilities for the launch of this project, including the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Economic Development Board. 
 
During the signing of the agreement, which also took place in the presence of Yusuf Obaidli and Khalid Al Moosa, members of the Board of Directors of Marson Group, Feng Chen, CEO of Gauss Auto, said: “The partnership with Marson Group came after long and in-depth discussions encompassing various responsibilities, tasks, work schedules, implementation mechanisms and feasibility studies, to ensure that Gauss Auto Bahrain is properly launched and operated and achieves its intended objectives.”
 
Chen said the establishment of a factory for electric vehicles of the highest calibre will boost Bahrain's competitiveness as a leading destination for investments and innovation. 
 
He added: "We will supply the local, regional, and international markets with our products of electric vehicles following the most recent international technologies used in this industry, and everyone will be proud that these vehicles bear the slogan Made in Bahrain.”  - TradeArabia News Service
